Customer-specific pricing isn't a Shopify feature out of the box
On standard Shopify, every customer sees the same price. B2B needs price-list-per-account, volume-tier pricing, contract-specific discounts. Shopify Plus B2B has this natively; standard Shopify needs custom Liquid + app integration.
NET 30 / NET 60 / invoice payment
Wholesale customers don't pay with cards. They expect invoiced terms. Shopify Plus B2B handles this with draft orders → invoices; standard Shopify needs a custom workflow.
Bulk order forms vs. consumer product pages
B2B buyers order 50+ SKUs at a time. A consumer-style 'click each product, add to cart' flow wastes their time. Bulk-order forms with SKU search are the standard, but most themes don't include them.
Quote-request workflows
For high-AOV B2B, buyers want to request a quote, not check out instantly. The flow needs: select products, add quantities, submit RFQ, your team replies with custom pricing, customer approves and pays.
Customer-account approval workflows
Real B2B has gate-keeping — new accounts need approval before they can see wholesale pricing. Standard Shopify treats every signup as an instant customer; B2B needs a 'pending approval' state and a way for you to vet companies before they see your prices.
